Bad Web Design Umm... Barf. Apparently cost a million pounds.
If you'd like to try to end the practice of companies spending obscene amounts of money on sites that many many people can't use or see and you want to see more standards compliant sites, then join VKIT (temporary name) today.
Quoting my own evolt post:
"I think someone should make a kit for designers and developers to give to their bosses. A kit that has all the arguments, studies, as much info as possible, for valid code, from a financial as well as "it's good for the future of the web" perspective aimed at company owners, managers, clients etc."
And from the VKIT site:
"However, no such “kit” exists. The purpose of the group is to see if some kind of "kit" can be put together - that will validate the use of standards compliant code while showing all the benefits that such authoring offers to clients, partners and business owners everywhere."
Tom Dell'Aringa aka pixelmech started the Yahoo group with this aim in mind. We're trying to get as many people involved as possible. Also "higher profile" web people would be great to put some weight behind the project. So if you know anyone, pass on the word.
