Yay! My cast is finally off. After 8 weeks of immobility it's pretty stiff and sore though. I've also got a strange rash on the back of my hand. I've still got lots of physio to do - 2 -3 times a week - and many painful exercises every hour or so. My skin feels very, very strange. It's over stimulation when I touch it. But I know things will get better and it's only a matter of time (and doing all the exercises) before I'm back to normal.
Warning - only for those with a strong stomach. When they took the cast off there was 8 weeks worth of dead skin hanging off my hand and wrist. I have really gross photos of my hand freshly released from the cast.
