Cast Off

Yay! My cast is finally off. After 8 weeks of immobility it's pretty stiff and sore though. I've also got a strange rash on the back of my hand. I've still got lots of physio to do - 2 -3 times a week - and many painful exercises every hour or so. My skin feels very, very strange. It's over stimulation when I touch it. But I know things will get better and it's only a matter of time (and doing all the exercises) before I'm back to normal.

Warning - only for those with a strong stomach. When they took the cast off there was 8 weeks worth of dead skin hanging off my hand and wrist. I have really gross photos of my hand freshly released from the cast.

It's that time of the year again...

...and no I don't mean school starting. It's my birthday! [cue blasting trumpets] So, as I did last year, I'll put up my birthday list for all to see [pay attention Dave!].

• Hair dryer with diffuser


• Hair straightener - but a good one not a cheap crappy one that'll burn my hair


• small point and shoot digicam with view finder + LCD, some optical zoom, auto picture (so I can take pictures of myself), flash options, and enough pixels that I can take a decent picture. I really want to have one I can carry around in my purse. Second hand would be fine too ;-) Yah, I know, I'm dreaming OKAY so just shut up!


• LOTR TTT DVD - I don't really care about the special edition I just want the movie NOW!
