A bit of holiday fun!

Now you can all be as special as David Frum was and write speeches for Bush. Of course, I can't guarantee that Danielle Crittenden will gush over what I'm sure will be your well turned phrases.

Ahhh! Right wing wankers. What would have to laugh at if they all got a brain?

Worst mistakes of 2002 (including Jakob's)

Well, Jakob has published his annual list of the top ten mistakes of web design. Mostly it's a great list. Except that he blames CSS for small, unchangable text sizes. Timothy Luoma explains why he is wrong.

Which reminds me, I've gotta get around to switching to relative font sizes soon... ah what are the holidays for except catching up on work that you've been putting off ;-).

News Flash! Americans want to take over the world!

"Two years ago a project set up by the men who now surround George W Bush said what America needed was 'a new Pearl Harbor'. Its published aims have, alarmingly, come true."

This is from a terrifying, but fascinating article by John Pinter. The scary project is known as the Project for the New American Century. Incredibly, their website is open about it's desire for the complete domination of the world by US interests.

I've always believed that Americans had the (not so secret) aim of taking over and ruling the entire world - but always figured it was at least a semi-covert project. After all, they had enemies and needed friends to support them. If their friends knew that the ultimate goal was subjugation of all other nations intrest to the intrests of the Americans, then the US wouldn't have any more friends. Now, apparently, they are the "world's only superpower" (how many times have I heard that phrase in the last year?), and they don't need friends. So they openly claim that they need to accept responsibility for "preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles". Their goal is to "promote American global leadership" and their Statement of Principles is signed by the likes of Dick Cheney, Jeb Bush and Donald Rumsfeld (among others).

So read the article, and check out this group - they are stomach-churningly scary.

Thanks to Isaac on the evolt chat list for bringing this to my attention.
